Prometeon releases Chinese brand name at 8th CIIE

On November 6, Prometeon officially debuted its new brand name, “百得安 (Bai De An),” at the new product launch platform of the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE). Yang Shihao, vice president of Sinochem Holdings, was present at the ceremony and delivered a speech.

“Bai,” meaning “hundred,” represents a century of inherited technological strength and the pursuit of excellence. “De,” meaning “gain,” reflects the principle of earning trust and pursuing win-win cooperation in the market. “An,” meaning “safety,” embodies the company’s core commitment to putting safety first. The launch of the Chinese brand identity signals that the Italian industrial tyre company is accelerating its localization efforts while strengthening its presence in the Chinese market.

In 2017, Pirelli spun off its industrial tyre division, which is long known for its strong technical foundation and industry expertise, and rebranded it as Prometeon Tyre Group, a company dedicated entirely to industrial tyres. Today, Prometeon operates four R&D and development centers and five major manufacturing plants around the world, with a workforce of over 8,000 employees. Its product lineup includes tyres for trucks and buses, agricultural machinery, and off-the-road tyres, serving customers in more than 160 countries and regions. The company is a tyre supplier to globally renowned commercial vehicle manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Scania, and MAN. In China, it also provides tyre solutions for leading companies including Sinotruk, FAW Jiefang, Yutong Bus, and King Long, along with many top-tier logistics fleets.

At this year’s CIIE, Prometeon made its Asia debut with the AT02—an eco-friendly agricultural tyre designed for superior field performance. The company also rolled out the FR88EVO and AP88EVO series, developed to tackle key pain points in China’s light-duty truck tyre market, including heavy loads and high failure rates, driving market upgrading through advanced technologies. In the heavy-duty truck sector, the FH88EVO and ST88EVO series deliver three core advantages—enhanced safety, better fuel efficiency, and strong resistance to eccentric wear. Engineered for the demanding needs of long-haul transport, they help accelerate the shift toward low-carbon, high-efficiency, and greener logistics in China.
